FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What happens if the dogs do not mate during my dogs stay?

A. If the act of mating is unsuccessful, we will offer the option of a full refund or free of charge, repeat mating. If progesterone testing has not been carried out, we will advise that you see your vet to pinpoint your dogs ovulation window. If she is not in the stage of ovulation in her cycle, it is unlikely she will be receptive.

Q. How will I know if they have successfully mated, how many times and exact dates?

A. At any time the dogs are together, they will be supervised at all times. It would not be possible for a mating to take place, without our knowledge. We will keep this record, along with photographic evidence of mating.

Q. I am not comfortable with my dog staying at someone elses house. Can arrangements be made where they are not away overnight?

A. Yes, absolutely, though it would make it much easier if you do not live too far away. We can agree a schedule, where your dog visits on alternating days 2-3 times.

Q. Is it possible to carry out progesterone testing with my vet and bring her for mating in the same season?

A. Yes, we just ask that you inform us when your dog starts her cycle and that way, we can ensure we are available and ready to welcome your girl, as soon as the vet confirms she is entering the ovulation phase.
